3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome web technologies destroyed by non-working examples, 4 April 1999
By A Customer
This book covers awesome web technologies; however, non-working created a lot of frustrations on my part and makes me wonder about the validity of the entire book altogether.

To the authors, try to test run your examples before releasing the book and its cd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for users with VB knowledge, 12 Aug 1998
By A Customer
This book is good for reader with basic knowledge on VB. The most usefule part is the first two weeks' chapters. From which, you can build a good and simple database/interactive web applications. The last week's chapters required deeper VB knowledge and don't provide the same details as previous two weeks. Anyway, it's a good choice for Windows based developer (especially beginner) to develop web database application.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some examples don't work but good coverage of ADO & ADC, 8 Jul 1998
By A Customer
This book had good coverage of ADO and to a certain extent ADC. For the first 5 chapters a lot of the examples didn't work which is frustrating because you expect examples on a CD to have at least been tried before being included. All of these could be made to work by changing the code around a bit. You would think as the book was part written by a Microsoft person that they would know what they were doing! All I can say is if you do buy this book don't think it's something your doing wrong when these examples don't work - Hopefully this will be corrected in future editions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok reference, bad organizaton, non practical examples

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, but misses some points
The first 5 chapters are redundant. The book starts out with crash course in HTML and VBScript which is barely useful for most of us. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Written for Microsoft Technologists
Very Microsoft indeed and all you need to know about ADO (even ADC if you care). The database connectivity material goes beyond what's in the ASP books. Read more
