1.0 out of 5 stars A true mistake for the serious boatbuilder, 6 Oct 2003
I’m trying to build my first boat with plywood. This book doesn't contain any information about plywood and the construction techniques. It is in fact a book about the life of the author and his wife. A good book for those who seek life stories related to boats, but completely irrelevant for someone who really wants to build a boat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Boatbuilder Talks Shop, 18 Feb 2002
By A Customer
I had read Jones's previous book, BOATS TO GO, and liked it. I liked NEW PLYWOOD BOATS, too. Jones has a nice writing style, and the boats he discusses are also nice. There are both sailboats and powerboats built with various techniques, mostly plywood. Several are multihulls, which Jones obviously likes.
At the end of the book, there is an interesting 'appreciation' of Phil Bolger, whom Jones knows personally.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR THE BOAT BIULDING BEGINERS, 16 Jan 2004
By K G GALLAGHER (bridlington, e. yorkshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
it is a good book if u want inspiration to keep going when u get into dificulty building your first boat. it is not full of plans that are usful for the novice builder nor does it cover the types of wood the beginer would use( cheep ). teak but not bog standard cheep ply.
i regret getting this one.
