5.0 out of 5 stars How Very Creative, 4 Jan 2002
By A Customer
No more boring scarves for my family. This is another in a series of delightful books by Trisha Malcolm (Socks, Mittens and Gloves). Her instructions are clear and her ideas clever. I am an experienced knitter but used this book when teaching my sister-in-law how to use patterns. We found it very helpfull.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its a nice little book, but..., 15 April 2005
I bought this book last year , along with 'Scarves Two', and 'Crocheted Scarves', all in the same series. I do agree that it is a nice little book, with some interesting patterns. Not mind blowingly fantastic, but worth having.
When I purchased my copy, It was priced at around the £7 - £8 mark, which was realistic for the contents and size- the book is a little smaller than A5, with 96 pages. I now see that the price is £21.89!! Are these books becoming collector's items?

Now that knitting seems to be 'on the up' again, there are many other books that are as good or better. If you want mind blowing, fantastic, inspirational, try 'Dazzling Knits', 'Kaffe Fassett's Pattern Library', or 'Blankets and Throws to Knit'.
These will knock your socks off. OK, they are not scarf patterns, but it would be quite simple to use the designs and ideas, which are a visual feast.
