I bought this book after reading all the positive comments about it, but I was disappointed when I actually got to read the book.

The book mainly contained pictures of celebrities (in black and white?!), a rehash of the old beauty tips, and a small selection of make overs.

There is no doubt that Sam Fine is a good makeup artist, his works are impressive, BUT it would have nice for him to actually share some of his tips and tricks with us and give us information as to actually pick colours which suit our skin, mix these colours and detailed instructions as to how to create different looks.

If you like to browse through pictures of celebrities, then fine this is the book for you, but if not get something else like Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces. Not worth the price.

This is a wonderful book. I really like the way Sam details every make-up technique he uses. Thank you for making a book that's an easier, more realistic approach to African-American beauty.

A very pretty book that did not justify the �16.00 price tag. Despite all the lovely photographs and wonderful transformations, this book was severely lacking in technique, and told me nothing that I did not already know. It contained information that I had already gleaned from supermarket magazines at a fraction of the price. The title of the book gives a false impression of what is actually contained within its pages, and it had no depth whatsoever. I sincerely hope that Sam Fine decides to do another book that actually tells us how to apply make up, colours that work for us and suggestions on what ranges to use. I am sure that I am not the only person who is fed up of wasting money on products that continually fail to work, or have no idea how to mix and blend colours. I am very pleased and appreciative of Sams' work, and I too would like my makeup to look nice and professionally done, but not by spending �16 on a book that tells me nothing.
