1.0 out of 5 stars Atrocious, 11 Aug 2006
Be warned - this is NOT a translation but a 'version', as it contains numerous modern terms , i.e.'radio', in the work of a medieval poet. Objectionable and misleading!

3.0 out of 5 stars Curates egg - good in parts, 4 Oct 2007
I must admit the frequent use of a very modern idiom was disconcerting but then translations are only translations - this is more of an interpretation. Not always a good thing and I would have preferred to see something more faithful to the original text, but then some of it is wonderful and not the worst attempt at presenting Hafiz to a western audience I have read.
