Product Description

Product Description

These selections from Rumi's "Mathnawi", a classic of Sufi spiritual literature, express the "lion's roar" of courage, discipline, clarity and integrity. The lion represents the fierce intensity that recognizes no authority except the highest truth. At the same time, Rumi's lion is full of heart and devotion. Through these poems, the reader will explore the qualities that are vital to the spiritual aspirant who seeks to overcome the imprisonment of the ego.

5.0 out of 5 stars Higher Ascension, 6 Mar 2006
I got a taste of Rumi's work whilst reading "drop from an Ocean" a kids teaching book, full of wisdom and stories, yet so powerful in meaning and content. Since then I have been drawn to Rumi's work like a moth attracted to light, however it was me being drawn to God. I was never into peotry, spiritualism, or into Rumi's work for that matter, since reading his works, I intend to read further and explore.

"Feeling the Shoulder of the Lion" I remember reading this book on the train from work, and feeling inspired, strong, and fearless. I didnt realise how much Rumi Loved his Creator "Unseen" then again, the heart and soul is always drawn to the One who is unseen.

This book is nice, and enough Food for the mind and soul, that even reading just one poem is enough to make you think deeply for hours on contemplation.

Rumi is truly amazing, how amazing, you will have to pick up one of his works!

Miraj... Higher Ascension, Love, Knowledge and wisdom. (The Prophet's Muhammad's Ascension)
