5.0 out of 5 stars Major reference for those interested in Tibetan Art, 25 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Robert Beer has produced a wonderful book. Superb B/W line drawings of the elements you find around the edges of Tibetan thangkas and a very detailed description of their meanings. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series - I hope I don't have to wait another 8 years. Thankyou Robert for your great kindness.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful & true ...., 2 Mar 2003
By N. M. Morrison "Nico Morrison" (London UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Robert Beer prepared for & worked on this referential volume for much longer than 8 years and it is the life in the art that shines through and illuminates both text & extraordinary drawings. This is a wonderful book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Artwork, 12 Jun 2009
By C. Savage ((Lincoln, England)) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Even if you are not interested in the more esoteric details provided in this work, the artwork alone is amzazing. While I have found this to be an indispensible reference work, my children love it just for the art. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in Tibetan art or Tibetan Buddhism.
