5.0 out of 5 stars First class overview of Taoism in all it's aspects, 27 Jun 2001
Yet another excellent book on Taoism by a very knowledgable practitioner of the Taoist arts. This book gives an extensive overview of various aspects of Taoism, giving a comprehensive view of the history of this very old and fragmented philosophy. Split into three sections the first deals with the history of Taoism from it's origins in shamanism to it's modern synthesis with Buddism and Confucianism. The second section deals with systems of Taoism including divination, internal alchemy, ceremony and magic. The third section deals with the practices of the different systems. A very thorough book, highly recommended.
