Product Description

Synopsis

Like the other titles in the "First Year" series, The First YearIBS offers two distinct advantages. First, it is written by a patient-expert, Heather Van Vorous, who has managed her IBS for more than fifteen years and knows firsthand what's required to manage her condition. Second, it guides readers through their first seven days following diagnosis, then the next three weeks of the first month, and finally the next eleven months of their first year, offering answers and advice to guide those with IBS into their new lifestyle. Starting with the day of diagnosis, Van Vorous provides detailed information about trigger foods, safe foods, soluble versus insoluble fiber, tips for eating and cooking, traveling, eating out, exercise, and much more. The First YearIBS will inspire and educate those with IBS as no other guide does.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is by far the best book on IBS on the market, 12 Feb 2002

(REAL NAME)
There are quite few books out there on IBS but don't bother with them. They will all say the same thing i.e. what IBS is followed by eating plans. The difference with this book is that Heather Van Horous gets it right!! I've read some other books that still tell you to eat dairy and fruit on an empty stomach and that is so bad for anyone with IBS. If you follow this book you can live your life IBS free. This book tells you step by step what you need to do to stop IBS, gives you recipes and menus for people who want to cook and those who don't. She also gives you tips on what to do should you have an attack. There is nothing else to say except this book is by far the best.
