My main issue with this book is that most of the recipes are simply variations of each other. I mean there must be at least a dozen variations on Boston Cream Pie--does anyone like Boston Cream Pie that much? (Apart from the author, obviously) The book seems made up of cheesecake, the aforementioned Boston Cream Pie, fruit tart, and cream pie variations. It just seems like she could have suggested a few variations and left it up to readers to experiment. Now, I have to confess I haven't actually made anything out of this cookbook--I just haven't been inspired--maybe the lack of pictures? Plus, her cheesecake recipe looks exactly like mine, but doubled, with some sort of tofu topping", and with more complicated directions. I suppose it's worth buying if you're really into the above desserts, and aren't comfortable experimenting on your own. And she does have a few interesting looking versions of her Pennsylvanian German favorites that will appeal. Otherwise, it might be best to see if you can borrow it from your local library.

ive bene allergic to egg and egg products all my life and finding nice deserts has always been a problem fot me. this book is great as it gives you the chance to taste foods which others may take for granted. obviously you have to be somewhat goodin thr kitchen, im quite rubbish but i can manage so where is hope for all you lot out there!! great bok, but could do with some pics but not essential.

Recipes use American measurments and American ingredients. The average serving size for each recipe is for 12, far too much for the average household.
