1.0 out of 5 stars NOT RECOMMENDED, 25 Feb 2001
By A Customer
When I first read this book I immediately thought that it was rather impressive, however after getting fiurther into the topic, I discovered that this book, my first book on the topic had not been so good as I had first thought. For starters, the section where it shows your zodiac and to which of the five elements you belong, the elements are lined up incorrectly with the corresponding animal of the zodiac. 101 Feng Shui Tips for the home. Although it sounds terribly useful, it is these sort of comments ('you should not do this but do this instead, and always place that there' ) that can in fact be very damaging indeed to the residents. If you do want to buy a book about feng shui, then I would strongly recommend one of Master Lam Kam Chuen's books on feng shui, both of which can be found on amazon. They are both very good, and extremely well illustrated. Written by an authentic master of the art who spent a very large number of years studying under different masters in china, taiwan and hong kong. This would be a very good buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic and mostly obvious suggestions to house layout., 1 Sep 2000

This was my first book on the subject and was very disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much in terms of "deeper insight" or understanding...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and well-structured guide for the novice, 28 Dec 1998
By A Customer
I am very new to feng shui but I wanted to learn more about it and incorporating it into my existing life. I liked the concepts of "The Celestine Prophecy" very much, and was interested in finding out how to maximize "ch'i", which seemsvery similar to the "energy" in CP. 101 Feng Shui Tips was extremely helpful to me. Not only did it explain the basic tenets of feng shui and the underlying philosphy about "ch'i" in a logical way, it provided practical guidance for analyzing your own space. Since I live in an apartment, the room by room discussions were very useful and applicable. I also like how the book didn't require you to have already a "perfect feng shui space". It gave a lot of pointers for maximizing good characteristics AND offsetting less than desirable characteristics. I wouldn't say I'm an expert now, by any means, but I feel like I have some general, practical ideas to use, now. I've heard he's coming out with a book directed specifically to apartment dwellers and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
