Hypnosis for Beginners is an excellent book for anyone wishing to learn more about self-hypnosis and the hypnosis of others. It includes complete scripts on regression, self-regression, self-hypnotism, and a full six session script for weight loss, teaching you routines for induction and deep relaxation that can be used for any purpose you desire. Hewitt breaks every session into routines which can be modified to meet your specific needs. The author thoroughly explains the state of hypnosis, many useful applications of it, and includes a full chapter of suggestions you can use to broaden your mind and improve yourself in many ways, all worded in an easy-to-read fashion. I have read this book several times and have found it extremely useful. Anyone interested in hypnosis, especially those who wish to begin using it to enhance the lives of themselves and others, should consider this book a must.

I have read quite a few books by william Hewitt and have found that most of his books aren't too bad but this book was different. In this book there is more writing about his past memories than there is writing on the excercises that you should perform if you want to improve your hypnotic abilities. I'm not a skeptical person, but even some of the stories are far fetched. If you want a book that is easy to understand, yet goes into detail, I would recommend you buying ''The thory and practice of hypnotism'' by William J Ousby or for those who wish to do stage hypnotism there is ''The new encyclopedia of stage Hypnotism''

I found this book easy to read, and easier to follow. It was wonderful to be able to put the techniques into practice as I learned them. If you are looking for a hands on guide to hypnosis, this is the book. It not only teaches you what hypnosis is, but exactly how to apply it to help others, and better yourself. For the first time in my life, I was relaxed in the dentist's chair.
