This book has been created by an independent research corporation to help companies/individuals decide which search engine would be best for their Intranets. Since the book was published search engine technologies have moved on significantly, with the result that the information in the book is old hat. If you are after a book that gives a general overview of how search engines work then you may wish to purchase it. This book is certainly not worth the ... price tag... If a book that discusses up to date search engine technologies as well as advising you on search engines for your web server is what you want then buy "Web Developer.com - Guide to search engines". This is the dog's bits.
