3.0 out of 5 stars Scroll Saw Castles, 12 Jan 2004
Scroll Saw Castles by Jim Stirling promises how to teach you how to make collapsible castles on your scroll saw. I have to say that it delivers on this point as I have been able to make some!
The introductory section, which covers the basics of constructing these types of castles, was informative and reasonably clear. If nothing else it explained how the whole 'collapsible' element was achieved.
The designs included in the book were simple to follow but, I felt, slightly disappointing due to the very basic fashion in which they were drawn. Also disappointing was the fact that the castle design I wanted the most; the burl castle so magnificently pictured on the front cover, wasn't there at all in plan form.
Apart from these small negatives I have found the book to be a useful starting point and if you are interested in creating castles in this style then this book should give you all the information you need to be able to do this.
