all the design information about the projects, 14 Feb 2001
This book is a real find, for those (particularly students) interested in design for retail. It has all the information you would really want to know about a design, how some of the best retail designers have planned and negotiated projects, and, possibly best of all, lots and lots of visuals. Drawings, sketches, visuals, freehand, teachnical, digital, mood boards, as well as excellent photographs of the finished environments. The book is relatively new published in 1999, which means that some of the examples are still available to go and see. Better still, from a UK perspective, many of the examples are local. For a book of this type, relatively few are European or from the US. For design students let alone architects and related design areas, this book is a treasure trove of very interesting and useful information. Full colour on all pages of course. I would really like to congratulate Stafford Cliff ex.Conran Design Group for, alongside Rashid Din's book on New Retail, these are the two best books on retail design at present in print. In my view, as a retail designer and design tutor.
