5.0 out of 5 stars Luthor gets a make over, 11 Jul 2001

(REAL NAME)
How does Superman continue being a hero if he's not super anymore? well this book has all the answers. Originally published in comic book format in the late 80's this mini series was in itself quite a mile stone for the man of steel..the story itself follows a dying Lex Luthor (through Kryptonite poisoning) attempting to get his final revenge on Superman with the aid or Mr Mxyzptlk, a magical imp from the 5th dimension.Add on top of that mayhem Clarke Kent proposing to Lois Lane and what you get is a intresting read.Wrtten by the team who later brought us The Death and Return of series this book fills in a lot of the gaps (along with "They Saved Luthours Brain") for people who started reading from the The Death and Return of series. The story is solid enough to keep you intrested though later stories where far better. The artwork, though good, now looks dated with all the female characters looking like Chariies Angels rejects. That aside its a great addition if purchased along with "They Saved Luthours Brain" as this story ends where that one starts!Look out for the in joke later on in the book at the expence of Marvels Fantastic four.
