Product Description
Synopsis
This is a revision of Cawson's "Oral Pathology and Diagnosis", published in 1987. Each chapter has been updated by revising the text in order to include new information (eg AIDS-related oral manifestations, developments in diagnostic techniques and therapeutics) and clarify existing text where appropriate, and by the inclusion of new colour slides (clinical photographs, gross pathology, histology) and radiographs. In addition, the organization of the book has been modified to reflect current thinking (eg multiple myeloma and solitary plasma cytoma are now covered in the chapter on nonodontogenic tumours, rather than in that on diseases of the haemopoeitic tissues and lympho-reticular system). The importance of clinicopathological correlations in understanding the mechanisms and management of oral diseas is becoming increasingly recognized, and while the approach adopted in the first edition served this growing need, the correlations between clinical appearances and microscopical aspects are given even greater emphasis in this edition.
