Sex and Drugs and Fashion Weirdness, 27 Jan 2005
Okay well it's a sex comic fully painted by Noe take a look at the cover that's actually the interior art if you like the style you'll like the art inside if you don't quit now.Still with me okay the book is and intresting and sly little comedy on sex, expectations and how society sees women and women see themselves. Our heroine is an aspiring fashion model with a glamour models build after being criticised for her weight amongst a slew of walking sticks she sees the doctor who assures her she's perfectly formed for her height and build but she still insists on diet pills. The doctor takes advantage of the situation (as most men in the story do) and she goes away armed with some pills that have a side effect on her libido. A series of encounters and weird dreams follow mostly themed around sex, weight and fashion till the eventual if you'll pardon the pun climax. There's a lot to like in this book it's lightweight on it's serious themes which is a shame but not really it's reason for being. Sex scenes are numerous and varied but generally quite short. Theis isn't Noes best work but it's very accessable and a good place to start if you've never seen any of his work before. It could use a higher page count to expand on the plot, sex and other themes all of which feel a bit rushed and cramped. Generally a solid book which is perhaps too ambitious for its format.
