Product Description

Product Description
Covering the main joinery systems - carcase and frame joinery - and featuring explanations of the importance of square and flat stock to router work, this step-by-step guide to router joinery is the first in a three-part reference series.

From the Author
Router joinery offers the woodworker accuracy & speed.
"I have a friend, a rocket scientist (I kid you not), who once described the router as the quickest way to ruin a piece of wood-he said he could ruin it more slowly with hand tools" P. 41 Learning joinery skills is not difficult once you understand some basic principles about joinery, tools, & materials. In this book, I look at each of these areas to help you understand how to put furniture together the right way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Clear and to the point, but limited in scope., 11 Jan 2000
The text and photos in this book are excellent and enable easy assimilation of the material. From the point of view of EU readers it's main downside is its rather limited focus on plunge routers which tend to dominate the market here. I couldn't help forming the impression that it was an 'American technique' book. I have reservations about the section on joint making which is pretty limited if you are already familiar with basic joinery techniques. For a first time router purchaser this is a reasonable book, but the professional tradesman will probably need to look elsewhere.
