5.0 out of 5 stars A one-line summary of this book? Positively beautiful., 23 July 2001
By A Customer
Such a touching, poignant story. I have read it over and over again, but daren't any more as it makes me cry without fail, each time I do! As a test, I lent it to my hard-hearted cousin who is interested only in Kung-Fu, just to see whether it was me or just such a beautiful story...and my cousin confessed she too had cried. A haunting, beautiful story- what we all dream about...that elusive person who completes us...and the sacrifice we have the strength to make because we are whole after having known them, knowing that nothing can take away that feeling. Positively beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Positively Breathtaking Get-Away, 27 April 2004
By LaSonya Woodom (Goldsboro, North Carolina) - See all my reviews
I would give this book 20 stars if I could. Gosh, what can I say aboutthis story except that it is the most beautiful love story I believe I'veever read. It exhibits the utmost tenderness between two people. Thestory of Robert Kincaid and Franchesca Johnson is that once-in-a-lifetimekind of bonding. The movie was an absolute tear-jerker. It is definitelya womens film. I will recommend this novel and the movie to everyone Iknow. Thank you Mr. Waller, for the ultimate romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars heartbreaking ..........., 27 Sep 2005
By Mandy (staffs, england) - See all my reviews
absolutely gorgeous, a must read for anyone. I have read this over and over, i cry all the time, i watch the film often and hope that Francessca will turn the handle on the car door (you have to read it to understand) I understand so much of Francesscas life, her daily routines, housework, children and details, and know how you can lose yourself in the midst of it all and you forget the dream filled, passionate, sensual person who you were before. When Robert arrived, Francessca became once more the woman she used to be. Five days in an Iowa Summer..... heartbreaking.................
