The 'Secrets' series of books focus on topics in the form of exam relevant questions and textbook answers. This book therefore is a valuable addition to 2 or 3 good textbooks. Chapters on hand surgery are particularly useful and can be revised to refresh ones knowledge- within 2 or 3 hours- with an array of answers at the fore of ones mind ready for tableside grillings. This then is the strength of this approach that building on didactically acquired knowledge, one may formulate in ones minds, the relevant questions concerning a given topic, and be able to give pithy answers to these questions.
In this sense this book serves as a dynamic teaching aid rather than as a static tome, of which many of us are familiar with on our shelves!
