The birth of a child is a happy occasion but not for the Dooleys! after many childless years Mary-Lou and husband Tex seek IVF treatment to help them realise their dearest wish but, unable to meet the staggering costs return broken hearted to their ranch. Undaunted, Tex decides to put into practice the lessons that he has learnt as stud-hand and stockman. In a tense and nail-biting spine chiller, the Dooley's joy swiftly turns to despair and horror when they realise that Tex has muddled the test-tubes.

As a writer, Joy Harjo just gets better and better. If you have enjoyed her earlier work then you will love this.
