5.0 out of 5 stars A legacy of the Subjectivist, 6 Jul 2001
By szkya@msn.com (London, UK) - See all my reviews
Pragmatism is a widely ramifying philosophical movement, which restricts the value of "truth" to its practical efficacy and usefulness, regardless of whether or not it may be contested from some other standpoint. Neo-classical institutionalists seem to have philosophical roots in the American pragmatists, neglects the invaluable insights by Shackle of suggesting that mathematics can play only a limited role in economic analyses. His insights review the limitations of pragmatic economis analyses. We should not overlook the Subjectivist's legacy.
