Product Description
Synopsis
This is the story of one man's struggle to protect Kenya's wildlife. Conservationist David Western - who grew up in Africa and whose life is intertwined with the lives of its animals and indigenous peoples - blends biographical details with a history of African wildlife conservation and a glimpse into his life as global spokesperson and one of Kenya's most prominent citizens. His approach to global conservation aims to balance the needs of people and wildlife and entails coexistence rather than segregation.

5.0 out of 5 stars In The Dust of Kilimanjaro, 21 Jun 2006

(REAL NAME)
My initial reason for buying this book was because David and I grew up in the same environs and attended the same school. However, whilst this read did indeed set-off long dormant memories, it was the subject matter that kept me glued to it from beginning to end. If you really want to know how mankind has wasted this earth's finest creations and learn how we can fight to save what is left for our children then look no further than 'In The Dust of Kilimanjaro'. Told with knowledge and passion from a man at one with nature and himself.
