3.0 out of 5 stars Deep and wonderful, 27 April 2005
By Mr. Thomas Llewellyn (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a very nice book. It is very lucid. But it is not really a manual or 'how to' book. Books by La Berge are much better if this is what the reader wants. There are fascinating stories from the dream life of Norbu Rinpoche and they do certainly broaden ones perspective. They may seem 'unusual' bu then as Rinpoche says 'unusual' is a relative term. The parts on Dzogchen and resting in the natural state are really quite advanced and are not something that anyone can just learn to do from reading a book. For advanced practioners and those who want to prime their dream experience this book is a treat but it is not reallty suitable for a beginner or one with just a passing curiosity.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Teaching With Many Live Examples, 3 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Another important teaching from the Dzogchen Master Choegyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche. This book includes many parts: 1.An introduction from editor-- to see dreams through various poitn of views; 2.Rinpoche gives several teachings-- the nature and classes of dreams, and the practice of the night, especially the practice of natural light, happens at the 'milam bardo' between falling asleep and mind functioning again, it's where Dzogchen values as primary practice than the secondary practice of lucid dream. 3.As live examples, many wonderful dreams of His own in a pilgrimage to Maratika 1984, which the readers shall not miss. 4.An Interview between He and the editor about this topic. 5.A translated text 'The Buddha No Further Than Ones's Palm' from Dzogchen master Mipham as bonus. The left is for readers to practice and experience by themselves! A book must read and thanks to the Rinpoche.
