This witty, touching memoir tells the story of Helene Hanff's attempt to "crash the theatre". It is as entertaining and charming as her great book, 84 Charing Cross Road.

Helene Hanff is SO much more than the author of 84 Charing Cross Road...
This autobigraphocal account of her trying to write for the stage is redolent of the times in which she wrote, and she comes across as a warm, natural and very funny woman, as well as writing such beautiful prose. The stage's loss is our gain, as this is a real treat, and very inspirational. Read her other books, too - she's just GREAT!
