This is a rare books that describes in great detail the internal workings of a modern computer where the memory is spread across multiple boards linked by an interconnect. I was fortunate to attend some lectures by the author Dan Lenoski while working at SGI. I would recommend this book if you really want to understand how the Cache and Memory Coherency work in a distributed memory machine CC-NUMA
