This book promises much but unfortunately delivers very little. It makes the mistake of catering for the absolute beginner - the first three chapters explain what the internet is and how to install Linux - I have a user manual for that, thank you. It then proceeds to regurgitate large chunks of the Linux how-tos and a few other pages that seem to have been cobbled together from other resources on the internet. Then as a final indignity it offers a list of URLs and other books you might like to read to understand the subject in more detail. My advice - use a web search engine and you'll find far more useful information a lot quicker and lot cheaper.

A great book giving the hands on, step by step process on how to set up a Linux Internet Server. Includes all the information the other books don't -- like the actual wire from the server to the internet, dealing with your ISP & other important facts. The book is a good one source reference that really covers EVERYTHING, to some degree. Many good tips about getting additional information for topics not covered in detail by the book.
