Product Description

Review

"Don Cheadle is heartbreaking in the true story of a Rwandan hotel manager protecting native Tutsis from the genocidal Hutu militia in Hotel Rwanda."

Synopsis

From the Oscar-nominated writer of in the Name of the Father comes a deeply moving film about a Rwandan hotel manager turned true-life hero, starring Don Cheadle, Sophie Okonedo, Joaquin Phoenix, and Nick Nolte. Ten years ago as Rwanda descended into madness, one man made a promise to protect the family he loved - and ended up finding the courage to save over 1,200 people. Hotel Rwanda tells the inspiring story of Paul Rusesabagina who uses his courage and cunning to shelter literally hundreds of refugees from certain death. Drawn from Terry George's three years of research, this book includes articles chronicling the historical events and aftermath, a brief history and timeline, the story of the making of the film, and the complete screenplay.

5.0 out of 5 stars The heritage, 25 April 2005
By Dominic R.Mosha (Dar es Salaam,Tanzania) - See all my reviews
Paul Rusesabagina, you are the great living legend of Rwanda. Your concern about your fellow Rwandese regardless of the tribal differences is what have brought this movie/book,Hotel Rwanda. The courage you had, bravity you have shown and how selfless you are, are the exceptional qualities you have shown. For real you opened your arms Paul when the world closed its eyes.
Don Cheadle did a very great job in the movie.I believe through imitating Paul there is a lot you have learned from him. I appreciate your work Don for the efforts you have put to make sure the world can see what happened in Rwanda 1994 Genocide.
