5.0 out of 5 stars McCay was decades ahead of his time, 24 Jan 1998
By A Customer
Anyone who's read a history of comic books, comic strips, and other sequential art has heard of Little Nemo, but few have seen it in detail. This is a beautiful collection of Little Nemo strips that demonstrate author Winsor McCay's use of plot, characters, and sequential art in ways that decades later others would be heralded for "pioneering". The strips are beautiful, elegant, witty, and fascinating. A must for any fan of sequential art.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value Collection, 6 Oct 2002
By D. Clode "Clodey" (Waramanga, ACT Australia) - See all my reviews
For lovers of Little Nemo, this is not only a supurb collection, but it was great value when it hit the market. The pages at 25 x 33cm do the artwork the justice it deserves. Winsor McCay's artwork is extremely detailed and his technical ability as an artist is as amazing as his prodigious output. McCay exhibits boundless imagination, as he depicts the dream world of Little Nemo, creating breath-taking transformations of scale and perspective (possible only with a total mastery of draftsmanship). My only regret about buying this book was subsequently finding out that the complete works have been published in a book of not dissimilar size. The complete works have a price tag that puts this book into perspective as a good buy.
