Synopsis
This guide allows the programmer and developer to maximise this environment by describing how JBuilder can extend and enhance the IDE itself. Starting with the basics of how JBuilder automatically discovers new tools and loads them into the IDE, this book covers many aspects of the OpenTools: creating actions and adding them to the JBuilder menu or toolbar, creating wizards, saving settings with the global properties system, interacting with the message pane, and creating new file node types and viewers for these or existing types. Also covered are creating new key bindings, intercepting keystrokes in the editor, Java code parsing and generating, and interfacing with version control systems and application servers. Includes CD.
