This is a great book for beginners wanting to learn the Pascal language. It is easy to read and doesn't "squash you" with too many details. The chapters are broken into easily digestable pieces. One of the drawbacks to the book is it makes the assumption that you already have a basic understanding of the various mathematic examples in the book. Overall, this book is a good starting point for learning Pascal. It won't give you everything you need to sit down and start programming monster applications, but it will give you enough knowledge to be dangerous. You can start creating some pretty cool stuff right away after reading this book.

If you really want to learn PASCAL, buy this book. It teaches you the structured programming concepts through real-life examples and solved drills.

WHEN I READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS BOOK I WAS SUPRISED AND FRANKLY SHOCKED. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT - HAVING READ THIS BOOK, I WAS ASTONISHED THAT ON THE COVER IT ACTUALLY CLAIMED TO TEACH YOU THE WHOLE LANGUAGE IN 3 DAYS. THIS IS TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE EVEN FOR A GENIUS AND I THINK TO PUT THIS...IS JUST UNTRUE. IM NOT SAYING THE BOOK IS UNINSPIRING, BUT FRANKLY, WITH ALL THE INFORMATION THROWN AT YOU, I TOOK TO MY LEGS IN TERROR.
