4.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive guide to ADOExpress (ADO VCL Components), 13 Sep 2000
By A Customer
ADOExpress is the ADO VCL Components included in Delphi 5 Enterprise.

Provides tremendous detail, from a background of RDMS to deploying Delphi 5 ADO Applications using Installshield Express. Plus everything in between.

If you are using ADO via the COM Interface, this book will (possibly) make you want to use ADOExpress. It will still provide you with excellent ADO related information. If you are determined to stick with the COM Interface, you will also need to buy a book specifically on ADO (Such as the WROX Book ADO 2.1 Programmers Reference) and suffer the confusion of VB Script examples.

There is even a Chapter on SQL syntax. I mention this to emphasisve the 'all under one roof' aspect of this book.

If you are planning to use ADOExpress, BUY THIS BOOK. Otherwise good luck with the ADO Section in the Inprise Manual! If you are a 'self employed' software engineer, you will save the cost of the book in no time. Buy the WROX book as well!

Why not 5 stars? Because there is nothing on performance issues. But if too many people understood that, I'd be out of a job!
