Product Description

Product Description

Nathan Wallace's Delphi 3 Example Book provides a well-organised resource for programmers and developers writing application software in Delphi's version 3. This latest version is a completely new release of the record-breaking Borland RAD product. And Wallace's book is the only book that covers all the new features of Version 3, including ActiveX development objects, the massively augmented Run Time Library (RTL), and the many new objects like the Registry. Special attention is given to the new CGI and ISAPI application types which permit creating Web server applications as well as standard executables. Also covered are all the new Visual Component Library components such as Decision Cube, native Internet and NEWT Internet, and the new Data Access and Data Components elements. Every property, method, and event in every component, major object, and application is given a full explanation, syntax example, and working project with full source code. The companion CD-ROM contains a complete working project illustrating every Delphi 3 component, object, and application, and seven additional chapters in HTML format for Internet Explorer 4.0. Book and CD-ROM.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor, lacking in content, CD worthless, 13 Jan 1999
By A Customer
I bought this book on spec. More fool me. The CD contains *nothing* in the way of source code, apart from many projects comprising of one form, and one button - which links to a duff web-site.

Do yourself a favour and skip this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Purchase this Book, 5 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Well...I agree with all the comments submitted by the other customers. The website cannot be found and there's no Source Code in the CD. Those who have purchased this book have been cheated by the publisher and the author. I think all of us deserve our refunds.Don't buy this book or u will regret. I've no choice to put 1 star..in fact no star at all for this book.Tried contacting the e-mail add in the CD but no such mail.Spread this news around to avoid others being cheated.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book sucks. Don't buy it (honest), 7 May 1999
By A Customer
Well all I can say, every now and then you get a bad apple in the bunch. If your a beginner to Delphi start with something *Lite*. Best book i've found so far is called "Beginning Delphi 2.0: Instant Windows Programming, by Wrox publishing. But iterate once again- SAVE YOUR MONEY, DON'T PURCHASE "Nathan Wallace's Delphi 3 Example Book...." !!!
