5.0 out of 5 stars Good information for both out of staters and in-staters, 27 Jul 1998
By A Customer
The book provides the reader excellent information to use in planning a trip to Colorado or for making changes to your itenary once you're already visiting. The flow of the book allows one to pick an area to preview or to look-up key cities in the region to learn more info. Ideally, we have used the book to help us get a plan together and to establish timelines for visiting essential Colorado hotspots. This book is a must for anyone coming to visit the state and who wants to first get an overview of the area and activities available. It covers offroading, hiking, biking and sight seeing. The only lapse we can find is in providing the reader some online places to fill-in any updates. If you're a native Coloradoan use the book to help setup a plan of attack for your visiting relatives.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has never let me down., 5 Aug 1999
By A Customer
I am a Colorado resident and use this book (and the previous editions) frequently for weekend getaways. In all the many times I have counted on the author's advice, they have never let me down. Excellent book!

2.0 out of 5 stars informative... but extremely bland and boring, 9 Jun 2004
By P. Kee "pk82" (N.Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this book as it had received a 5* rating from those who had bought it from Amazon.co.uk - many of the things in this book were written up to 10 years ago. This book is 660 pages thick - full of history and contains many irrelevant facts. This book does not have the punchiness and the readability of a Lonely Planet book - one look at the pictures of the authors at the back of the book and you'll see why. I wouldn't even say this book is insomnia curing because it is hard reading, it really is hard to concentrate on reading this book. I regret buying it. I will admit that there is information and some photos but it could have been written a lot better and really does not warrant its five stars. I've given it two stars because at the end of the day it is informative but just extremely bland and boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best guide for Colorado that I have ever seen!
This book is a thorough review of things to do, places to see, state history, restaurants and places to stay. In brief, there is not a better guide anywhere!
