Product Description

Review
"Aaron Krach has given us the story of two June weeks in the lives of Adam and his friends--days of love, death, and coming of age, all rendered with a perfect understanding of how boys at the edge of manhood think and (with more than a few laugh-out-loud lines) how they talk."--Elizabeth Stone, author of "A Boy I Once Knew: What a Teacher Learned from her Student

Book Description
During the last year of the 20th Century, 18 year old Adam Westman finds himself 'on the verge of manhood', as his best friend Dart likes to say. He lives with his depressed father, Greg, and imaginative younger sister, Sandra. When Greg suddenly dies things change dramatically, and the relatively smooth orbit of family and friends are altered when Adam needs them most. In the middle of the drama, a man in uniform appears - and he is more than interested in Adam. A novel about learning to take risks, depending on your friends, believing in yourself and creating your own life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Moving and funny!, 7 Aug 2005
By Charlie (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Read this book - it is addictive, and the perfect "gay" holiday book.

It is good to read a book about young gay guys that is not neagtive, and about victims. Positive characters and a lot of fun along the way. Would give it a 5 out of 5 except I never give those on principle!

this book started off great.Ithought it was really going to go somewhere with the assisted suicide and complications of a gay police officer investigating, but nothing happened,if I wasnot stuck in an airport for 10 hours Iwould never have finished it,so boring.

1.0 out of 5 stars ditchwater has more going for it - best insomnia cure ever, 1 Mar 2006
I though it should be a good read - the premise was promising! Only the last twenty pages seemed to have anything going for it. Real boys do sex, have fun with it and not make crap childish conversation about it. Books shouldn't try to do sound effects, begins to seem like a primary school spelling list, leave that to the film version - gawd help us if that ever happened with this one.
