5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite book as a child, 30 Aug 2008
By M. Kane - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When I was eight, my dad bought me a copy of the old edition of this book and it utterly captivated me. I would spend days poring over it, trying out the tips and projects in it, whether making dandelion wine or climbing through playing cards. I made my parents promise that if I died, they would make sure that I would be mummified according to the instructions in the book. There was probably no other single item that gave me as much entertainment. Even now, over twenty years later, I enjoy the bizarre and meticulously illustrated trivia in it, and look forward to one day passing it on to my own children. I don't think I'll ever manage to become Pope though.
