I grew up on these these surreal poems, and at one point I could recite all the verses of "On Tuesdays I Polish My Uncle" off by heart. Now that I have a baby of my own on the way, I'm keen to share the stories of the brown-bread eating rattlesnakes of Mississauga, the hairy Oopik, and of course the Sitter and her attempts at a better batter fritter. Wonderful, memorable, and utterly nonesensical - I hope he loves it as much as I did.

I actually haven't read this book since I was a kid, but I still love it. The poems are very catchy, I still remember the one about Suzy and Sally. I highly recommend this book.
