I have enjoyed Meg O'Briens other books but found this one to be very heavy going. Stranded on a small Island in the middle of the Gulf following an earthquake; it would seem everyone has their own agenda; some are hiding essential equipment, others are committing murder. Unfortunately I found I really wasn't that bothered and couldn't find a great deal of empathy for the central character - who had obviously been set up for something she didn't do.
Not a page turner - and I felt the fear factor could have been utilised to a much higher degree. I would say this one is only for the real O'Brien fans.

Being a great lover of books (all Genre's) I always have Two or more books on the shelf ready to read when I finish one!.

I have never ever not finished a book until now.......so as I can't comment on the whole book, I can say that three quarters of it really aren't that good. The central character was someone I never really felt "I knew".

Not the best book I have ever read.
