5.0 out of 5 stars genius Dickens doesn't disappoint, 19 Sep 2008
By sarah-g (england) - See all my reviews
such a clever funny book..it isn't a "novel" as such, more like a collection of observations from Dickens London - of people and places which are v funny and clever, the illustrations also being a joy.
The last section is called "tales" and is a bunch of extremely entertaining short stories which you will love i would pretty much bet on..he is the master of this kind of thing...just the thing for this time of year and a hot cup of tea
Bravo

5.0 out of 5 stars Dickens at his most imaginative., 16 Feb 2004
A beautiful selection of sketches, skits and yarns for Dickens London. At times it makes you wonder how our ancestors survived the time that they did. Strong characters, funny tails, makes you want to more through the seperate tales forever. If you like the more popular Dickens books: Oliver Twist, Christmas Carol, etc. you'll read this and see where the foundation of all of those wonderful characters came from.
