5.0 out of 5 stars excellent resource for anyone who has CFS, 9 Jun 2008
By David Jameson (Calgary, AB) - See all my reviews
My recovery story appears in this book, but I am not the author and I don't make any money from it.

If you buy one book about CFS, make sure you buy this one, as it will be the most useful book in helping you to recover. Too many patients believe that it is impossible to recover from CFS, and that all to often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. This book shows that people can and do recover, and if you read their stories it will give you not only hope but also advice as to what worked for different people to help them in their recovery.

The stories are written by the recovered patients in their own words, presumably with some minor editing, and they are well written and easy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Read - A Must For All Those Serious About Recovery, 13 Jan 2009
By Ms. S. L. Allenby (Bristol, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having recovered from ME myself (and also written my own positive and solution-focused book about my recovery) Alex Bartons book is a breath of fresh air. By putting this book together she has shown that she understands the most important thing that everyone in recovery needs to realise - to recover you have to focus on recovery and not on disease and suffering.

If you are keen to overcome your condition one of the best things that you can do for yourself is saturate yourself with stories of others who have done the same. This book will fill you with hope, and that hope will be a catalist to your healing. Read a story a day, if you can, and see how differently you feel in 50 days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hope, inspiration and useful ideas toward recovery, 18 May 2009
By G. Jakimavicius (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a wonderful book. People with chronic fatigue need hope, ideas and support. And this book delivers all three!

To hear the stories of 50 people who have recovered is a powerful and essential resource for the road to recovery. It is therefore ideally suited not only to those suffering from the condition, but also to carers, family and friends.

The format of the book is particularly helpful; each chapter is a story of struggle and then success. It is a demonstration of the courage and determination of both suffers and carers. But, in addition, each chapter finishes with that person's tip on the main aid to recovery, their personal advice, and then recommended books and websites.

Alex Barton has achieved something special and practical - a real help to improving the life of so many people who struggle with this horrendous condtion. Take a bow Alex!
