Synopsis
Geordie and the Spaceman is the story of a young lad named Geordie who meets Yuk, a space boy who has stolen his father's space ship as a dare and landed on Earth by mistake. Yuk knows his father will not reach him for a week and the story covers the boys' adventures as they build a lasting friendship. Geordie's family look after Yuk and keep his arrival a secret, aided by the fact that Yuk can turn himself invisible. As the week progresses, Yuk realizes that there are a lot of similarity between his race and that of the humans. In fact, Earth has been carefully studied by the 'Yukkarites' for quite some time and Geordie's encounter with Yuk leads to an early meeting of the two life forms.

I thought this book was a great read for my 10 year old boy, he read it from cover to cover without putting it down, the story of an alien visiting a northen town gives a new twist to the stories off aliens arriving on our planet.
being Well written and well illustrated, it drew my boy into its world, if the writer is bringing out another one I hope its soon.

My children read this book, as did I, and found it very engaging. The story line is simple, an alien boy meeting a human boy and finding a bond. The narrative is straight forward, easily read and traditional. Both my daughter of 7 and my son of 11 enjoyed reading the story. Seems like a hook has also been left for a second story...we await the next installment.
