Andrew Vachss' novels used to be exiting, and enjoyable too. Not any more though. I thought I'd come back to the "Burke" books, after not reading any for a few years. I wish I hadn't bothered. I realise Vachss is a "single issue" kind of guy, but how long have we been hearing the same voice, saying the same thing, now? If only he'd tried to stretch himself a bit more as a writer. Who knows how far he could have gone? Who knows how far Burke could have gone? I bought this on mp3 but couldn't even finish it.
