Good book., 8 Dec 2006
Blair Mallory has already survived attempts on her life. In fact, that is what brought Police Lieutenant Wyatt Bloodsworth back into her life. Wyatt drives her crazy, in various good and bad ways. Now he has tired of waiting for Blair to set a date and has thrown down a gauntlet. Blair has exactly thirty days to wed him or he will kidnap her to Vegas for a tacky wedding. Blair knows he means it too. So she is now racing all over the place, trying to get everything set up. Even with the help of her family and friends, there just does not seem to be enough time to coordinate her dream wedding.
To make matters worse, someone tries to run over Blair while she is walking out of the mall with her wedding shoes (and a few other items she simply HAD to have, of course). She also believes that someone is following her car often. Wyatt believes Blair is making a mountain out of a mole hill. Okay, so Blair may be a drama queen at times, she may be high maintenance all the time, and she certainly demands Wyatt's full attention if he is not dealing with something truly important such as his work. But Blair just knows that she is on someone's hit list again and it is frustrating not to be believed by her own fiancé!
But when Blair's stalker gets really serious, even Wyatt has to admit that Blair has managed to tick someone off...again. Wyatt better get busy, because Blair is writing up her own list of grievances against Wyatt and making sure everyone knows them!
**** Blair Mallory and Wyatt Bloodsworth starred in a previous novel titled "TO DIE FOR". If you read and enjoyed it, then you are bound to love this one! Wyatt is still a hunk and very serious about work as a cop. Blair is still gorgeous and totally hilarious. Both still love to push each other's buttons. All-in-all, it blends together for a dangerous and hilarious ride on the wild side. In my opinion, it is too easy to figure out who the stalker must be; however, readers will have a fun time just watching everything happen. A wonderful novel for the Christmas season especially. ****

Linda Howard hits all the right notes , 10 Dec 2006
Drop Dead Gorgeous is a book I thought I wouldnt like. Having read to Die For Blair and Wyatt's first adventure I didn't think that Linda Howard could get a second story from the couple but I was mistaken. Now usually I dont like anything written in the first person but you know I think Linda Howard makes it work. The dialogue between Wyatt and Blair is snappy and at times had me laughing out loud.Blair's convinced someone is trying to kill her Wyatt isn't convinced. for those who read the first book Blair is still keeping a list of all Wyatts faults. It is a light read for those times when you need to enjoy a good book that is well written has good dialogue and very believable characters who you care about. Linda Howard is one of my favourite writers and this book is one I sat and read in one sitting, if you liked To die For and Open Season then I think you will like this book. I have a fairly stressful job and found this a really good read to unwind to. I would like to hear more from this couple but think that if Linda Howard does write about them again then the storyline of attempts on Blairs life have run their course.

Funny!, 2 Jan 2007
This is a sequal and not realising that I ordered only Drop Dead Gorgeous. As this book gives the game away re. the first book, I can't now really read that; which is a pity as I enjoyed this so much.
As the first reviewer says this book is written in first person, which I usually hate. However, in this case it works beautifully. Blair Mallory is engaged to be married to cop Wyatt Bloodsworth. However, there is a big problem for happy ever after. Both are Alpha characters and have to have the upper hand. Blair has learnt at her mother's knee how to manipulate men to get what she wants, but Wyatt can manipulate as well as she can. There is strong attraction and love between them, but can love survive a war of the sexes? Blair is a high maintainance woman and requires all Wyatt's attention. When Blair is dithering over setting a wedding date in order to appease all the people who would like to attend, Wyatt issues an ultimation, which gives her no end of problems. The major one being that someone appears to be trying to kill her again and is also stalking her. Unfortunalely Wyatt thinks that she is being paranoid and doesn't fully believe her, thinking she is just trying to get his attention. Blair is obviously deeply hurt by his doubt and the things he says in the heat of the moment.
Blair writes numerous lists of his transgressions and leaves them around for him to read. Unfortunately, he ignores them. An hilarious scene, is when locked in a police car for her own safety and unable to get the attention of Wyatt or the other cops, she writes loads of notes e.g. "Wyatt is a Jackass", "The wedding is off!" etc., and sticks them with chewing gum to the inside of all the car windows. These notes of course find their way into fellow cops hands, much to their hilarity.
A very funny romantic suspense and quite unlike the other Howard novels that I have read.
