The good, the bad, the indifferent. I hope my poems reflects and mirrors all the variety of women I admire and gain strength from. This collection of poetry is my way of showing the greatest appreciation of our Beautiful Black Women. The positive and the not-so positive shades of their personalities; their ever-changing moods which I find so overwhelmingly attractive. So, to their determined Spirit I dedicate this book - Queens All!!

I own this book and I'm just sorry that it took me so long to go out and buy it. It was well worth every penny. I found it to be spiritually uplifting, motivating, empowering, funny, nostalgic as well as deep and serious, dark yet lighthearted. Above all it pays tribute to the beautiful black women we are inside and out and the funny little quirks and habits that make us truly unique.

Some of my personal favourites include 'Deception Of The 1st Magnitude' - a tale of the beautiful woman gone to bed with who isn't necessarily the same one woken up with. 'Hot Chocolate' - I read it and came away feeling that I am the woman Mr Davis.Jnr describes so eloquently. 'Maybe I Will Succeed' - despite what some men think, there's are women who will give them a chance so there is some hope for them after all. 'What Is A Woman Like','Curves' & 'Thunder In The Sky' - all positive tributes to our individuality and female strength.

This is a book I enjoyed reading and re-reading, sharing often with my sisters and girl-friends when they needed a little boost of self-esteem or just to be reminded of just how special we are.

A recommended read for any woman of colour who wants to be uplifted and honoured through verse.
