Product Description

Synopsis

Martin Broadwell is a world traveler and world trainer. Designated as the "Best Supervisor trainer in the world," when he was inducted into the HRD Hall of Fame in 1990 in New York City, he continues to write and train at the first level of management. This book, "101 Ways To Supervise Like A Human Being," epitomizes Martin's influence on the world's supervisory training. It is his four-teenth book, still keeping to the fundamentals of "Keep it simple, keep it real, keep it working!" He recalls being asked by his co-training son, training in Khatmandu, Nepal, "Why are we here? What do we know about their supervisory problems?" The first exercise was for the twenty-two supervisors in the class to list their biggest problem as a supervisor. From Erdu and Hindistani language came, "Motivating workers." All twenty-two had this first on their list. Martin turned to his son and said, "See, we're really in Peoria, Illinois. Same jobs, same problems." This is how Martin learned to write about the commonality of supervisory problems! Martin has trained for most large U.S. companies, but he's also traveled and trained in over eighty countries, from Baghdad to Teheran, from Singapore to Hong Kong, from Hainan Island in China to the Himalayas of Kashmir.

He's did supervisory training behind the Iron Curtain in Poland, the Soviet Union, in East Germany and Romania. He's trained in India, Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South America, Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, South Africa and Canada. Martin's books have been translated into Polish, Spanish, Indonesian, Mandarin Chinese and more. The message is always the same. "People make up the workforce anywhere, so treat them like the human beings they are." From all this come good, usable books like "101 Ways to Supervise Like a Human Being!" This book is a long time dream of Martin Broadwell's idea to identify typical problems that supervisors have, then come up with answers for them in short, concise and understandable
