I found this book ideal to dip into, being short stories which I could read in one. The pieces were dark, intriguing yet true to modern day life - without being over-the-top. I found that the stories were crafted in such a way that I could actually picture the characters and scenes in my head - very vivid and believable portrayals. It seemed to me that there was an underlying theme of angst and change running right through the book. Ideal, thought-provoking reading in small doses, for fitting into busy lives. Reminds me of a Scots Raymond Carver - highly recommended.
