3.0 out of 5 stars Not for a million bucks, 22 Jun 2009

This could have been so much better. Don't misunderstand me, it is a good read - witty and self depricating. However, extremely scant on detail and dates. Having been most famous for the Little House series, she seems to just want to skim over this period of her life. We get some detail about her first marriage, divorce and second marriage but again no dates. She talks about her brother, Jonathan (better known as Willie Oleson) distancing himself from the family but that takes up about half a sentence. Doesn't Ms Gilbert know that when you read a bio, you want all the juice?

The most detail she gives is in her time as SAG President. Of course, like all people in her genre she does come across as conceited but that is to be expected.

The pictures are very scant (again not much detail attached). All in all, could have been so much more. Does seem like she churned this out over a long weekend. Would I have her life for a million bucks? Not a chance.
