3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly better than before, 11 Dec 2009
By PJ Rankine (Wallington, Surrey United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
One for Lovecraft fans this as our hero takes on Cthulhu and the old ones as they plot to take over the world starting with New Orleans, its never Bognor Regis is it? Simmons has his hero facing up against the vampire queen of New Orleans as she attempts to use the Old Ones to gain power and this time introduces the fae into the mix as well. All the usual characters are back with the wise cracks and references to popular culture. As with his last book the denouement is well done and unusual and the ending as to how it affects several key characters was unexpected. I'd like to see book 5 back in the realm of the vamps and weres without him having to save the world yet again.
