Christmas in Miami is a time of good cheer for one and all - except, that is, for the members of the Miami-Dade Crime Lab. They have to deal with the Red Menace: the annual gathering of hundreds of red-suited Santas, jolly old fat men swarming all over the city, comical and annoying - until one of them turns up dead. Tidings of comfort and joy? Hardly...the discovery of a headless corpse is something of a break for the hard-pressed but always professional CSI: Miami team. But the season of goodwill gets rapidly worse when what should be an uncomplicated, everyday convenience store robbery turns into an international incident with ties to a terrorist organisation.

Donn Cortez is the pseudonym of Don DeBrandt, a writer whose science fiction has been compared to Larry Niven and John Varley among others. His previous books for Pocket include ANGEL: SHAKEDOWN (0743406966) in 2000.
